FROM OPEN AIR ART WORKSHOPS AT ASPAT…
TO OUTDOOR CONTEMPRORY SCULPTURE MUSEUM…

Every bay and hill of Bodrum has a story which comes to our age from hundreds of years ago… Among the many stories about the chevaliers of glorious Bodrum Castle, there are legends and typified stories from Bitez to Çökertme… They travel auricular…

Aspat's most famous story is still in minds by that famous folk song "Here is no Aspat my Halil… it is Bitez shore "… Halil, who mistakenly touches to land at Bitez instead of Aspat, is shot before uniting with his lover, Gülsüm…

Certainly; Aspat’s history goes to 7th century BC… First residents of Aspat are from Leleg Civilization… Aspat hill and its aprons are besides its natural beauty, protects its difference and importance with its historical richness.

We took the road with asking to ourselves how we can positively contribute to this spectacular natural and historical beauty… Will Aspat just be an ordinary beach and hotel image? What will we bring to history

We deemed to start an artistic activity at the peninsula's most beautiful bay, between pasture, grass, palm trees, eucalyptuses and Aspat Mount's aprons appropriate.

The sculptures and paintings produced by local and international sculptors and artists in Aspat every year shall be a part of the open air sculpture museum” and “painting museum” planned for future.

Sculptors created big area sculptures with snow-white marbles of the district, Mugla – Yatagan. Painters, especially form Aspat’s mount, made oil paintings that were influenced from light which changes the texture every hour of day. Aspat’s visitors talked with the artists while watching these meaningful studies. They lived the privilege of being together with the artists while watching their works.

17 Open Air Sculptures are the proof of our adding a new story to Bodrum peninsula, Bodrum’s not just composed of sun, sea and entertainment. Our aim is to bring an Outdoor Contemporary Sculpture Museum to Bodrum and to our country.
